If your room is available when you arrive, the team will gladly check you in early. If it is not ready yet, they are happy to store your luggage until the room becomes available. Please keep in mind that checkout is at 11:00 am and the hotel is often fully booked during high season.

Is the hotel kid friendly?

Children are welcome at Sendero, but the hotel is designed as an adult-oriented property. Families with small children are often happier and better accommodated in the villas.

Sendero offers dog-friendly lodging. Dogs are the only pets allowed, must be under 50 lbs, and there is a maximum of two dogs per room. A pet fee of 50 USD per dog per night is added to your room charges.

What are your cancellation policies?

During High Season (November 1 to April 30), if a reservation is cancelled or modified within 60 days of the arrival date, 100% of the reservation is charged. During Green Season (June 1 to October 31), if a reservation is cancelled or modified within 30 days of the arrival date, 100% of the reservation is charged. In all seasons, no-shows are charged 100% of the total amount of the reservation.

Sendero is located in Playa Guiones, just north of the main beach entrance, directly next to the beach preserve and about a two-minute walk to the beach. When driving to Sendero, it is recommended to go through Nicoya, especially during the rainy season.

Costa Rica uses 110-volt electricity, the same as in the United States, and most plugs are the standard two flat parallel pins.

Sendero does not offer all-inclusive packages. However, the hotel provides a variety of amenities, including a surf school, yoga studio, full-service restaurant, and a concierge team that can coordinate tours, transportation and massage services.

Families are generally most comfortable in the villas. Two King Rooms with connecting doors can host a family of six, with the option to add rollaway beds or pack-n-play cribs. Suites have a main bedroom with a king bed and a living area with a queen pullout sofa, and can accommodate a family of five with an additional rollaway or pack-n-play. Queen Rooms, Queen Deluxe Rooms and Jungle Rooms cannot take extra beds and are not suitable for children. Extra beds are 30 USD per night plus 13% VAT, and an additional bed must be booked for children over 7 years old when staying in a room with two guests.
